Servo Gearbox Types
Fengxin has one of the broadest offerings of precision servo gearboxes on the market, with the engineering expertise and manufacturing flexibility to provide custom solutions, providing the best solution for your motion control applications.
Servo Gearboxes differ by the type of gearing used. The gearing affects the precision (measured by backlash), available ratios, and configuration of input to output shaft.
Fengxin Inline Servo Gearboxes
The input shaft and output shaft are inline. This is achieved by using planetary gearing. The gearing can be straight spur planetary (EPL, PE) or helical planetary (SPH). Helical planetary gearboxes offer quieter operation and higher precision. Inline planetary gearboxes are available in ratios up to 1000:1.
Right Angle Servo Gearboxes
In these gearboxes, the input and output shafts are perpendicular. Fengxin uses 2 types:
Hypoid gearing: Precise and efficient gearing used in the Dyna Series and Dyna Lite gearboxes. Up to 15:1 in a single stage. Higher ratios achieved by adding a planetary gearbox at the input.
Right angle planetary: 1:1 right angle bevel gearing into planetary gearing used in the EPR and PER
Other gearbox technologies include:
Zero-backlash planetary, cycloidal, and strain wave. These are used for very high precision applications such as robotics.
Spiral Bevel gearboxes, with ratios up to 6;1, used for precision and servo applications.
Gearbox Features
Because of the different types of gearing and configurations, there is a servo gearbox to fit motion applications. Common features include:
Shaft, flange, or hollow outputs.
Included motor adapter customized for your preferred servo motor.
Backlash less than 8 arcmin, and as little as 1 arcmin.
Gearbox Applications
Servo gearboxes are used in many precision automation applications. These can include applications such as:
driving belt actuators
ball screws
conveyors
rack & pinion
rotary tables
In addition, Fengxin servo gearboxes are used in many custom or specialty applications.
